No Headstone On My Grave (LP Version) Lyrics

No Headstone On My Grave
Charlie RichDon't put no headstone on my grave,
All my life I've been a slave,
I don't want the world to know,
Here lies the fool that loved you soDon't send no flowers when I'm gone
I just want you to put me down, and then move on
Just put me down and let me be
Free, from all this miseryNow tell my Mother, my Mother not to cry
I'll see her in the by and by
Tell her that I'm finally free
From all the trouble you caused mePlease don't put no headstone on my grave,
Like I said all my life I've been a slave,
Just put me down and let me be
Free, from all this miseryTell my Mother not to cry
Tell her I'll see her in the by and by
Tell her that I'm finally free
From all the pain you caused meDon't put a headstone on my grave
All my life I've been a slave,

I want you to put me down and cover me up, and let me be
Free from all this miseryLord, just let me be right now pretty baby
And just let me go
