No Salt On Her Tail Lyrics

Not in my arms, but on my mind
Yes, on my mind, but not in my arms
Time passes by and I watch her fly
Yes, I watch her fly and time passes byThough it's hard for me I'm going to leave her free
'Cause that would be the best philosophy
Then she'll come to me so I feel that to be real thatThis little bird, she can fly away
No salt on her tail
No cage to make her stayThough it's hard for me I'm going to leave her free
'Cause that would be the best philosophy
She'll come to me so I feel that to be realThis little bird she can fly away
No salt on her tail
No, she can fly awayNo cage to maker her stay
This little bird can fly away
No cage to make her stay

The Mamas & the Papas (credited as The Mama's and the Papa's on the debut album cover) were a leading vocal group of the 60s from New York. The group recorded and performed from 1965 to 1968, releasing five albums and charting ten hit singles that hold up as well today as they did back in the sunshine era. While spending relatively a short time in the realm of popular music, some group members have pointed to their short time in the spotlight as a reason why they still have loyal fans today.
