Not For You Lyrics

{Words & Music: Hazel O'Connor}Don't promise you'll never leave me
Cos, that would be a lie
We don't perceive the change of time
Tomorrow's the throw of the dice
Believe me I have tried for you
As much as I couldBut I wouldn't (couldn't) I wouldn't (I wouldn't)
I couldn't (couldn't) I wouldn't (I wouldn't)
I couldn't give up my freedom
Not for you, or for anyone else (for you)I guess I've lived alone too long
To make this compromise
I know that this is hurting you
I've seen that look in your eyes
Oh, write me off as just another one
Who couldn't live up to your idealsCos I couldn't (couldn't) I wouldn't (I wouldn't)
I couldn't (couldn't) I wouldn't (I wouldn't)
I couldn't give up my freedom
Not for you, or for anyone else (for you)So take a walk - (talk talk talk)
So take a walk - (talk talk talk)

So take a walk - (talk talk talk)
To take a walk - blah blah blah blah blah blah blahDon't promise you'll never leave me
Cos, that would be a gross lie
We don't perceive the change of time
Tomorrow's the throw of the dice
Oh write me off as just another one
Who couldn't live up to your idealsCos I wouldn't (couldn't) I wouldn't (I wouldn't)
I couldn't (couldn't) I wouldn't (I wouldn't)
I couldn't give up my freedom
Not for you (not for you)
I couldn't give up my freedom
Not for you, (or for anyone else)
I couldn't give up my freedom
Not for you
