Not Giving Up On Me Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
How many times have I been face down
Drowin' in the bottom of a bottle?
Tryin' to get up only knocked me to me kneesAnd how many times have I flown around this world
Tryin' to find somethin' I thought I really wanted
But I didn't need
Come here, girl, I need to tell you somethin'Nothin' matters more than what is
Right in front of me
All my searchin' finally found me
Where I needed to beTook a whole lot of flyin'
A whole lot of fallin'

And damn near drownin'
And you not givin' up on meGod knows how many times
I've begged and pleaded
For one more second chance
Only you know how many times
You gave it to meAnd the grace it takes to let a man
Make the mistakes that he's gotta make
When you already knew the way
Come here, baby, I must've been half crazyNothin' matters more than
What is right in front of me
All my searchin' finally found me
Where I needed to beIt took awhile for me to understand
What got me to where I am
What made me a better man
Was you not givin' up on meAll my searchin' finally found me
Where I needed to be
Took a while for me to understand
It got me to where I am and made me a better man
And you not givin' up on meAll my searchin' finally found me
Right where I needed to be
Took a whole lotta flyin', a whole lotta fallin'
And damn near drownin'
And you not givin' up on meCome here, baby
There's one more thing that I gotta say
I love you for not givin' up on me
Not givin' up on me

Around the time Jack Ingram started writing songs and performing, he was studying psychology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. "Music and psychology come from the same place," he says. "It's about studying why people tick. I write songs to figure out my world, why people act the way they do, why they make the decisions they do."
Lucky for us, Ingram chose a career in music-and discovered an altogether different kind of therapy. He weaved his questions about life into songs whose depth and incisive wit were matched only by their melodic resonance and insistent hooks.
