Nothing of the Kind Lyrics

Just because of the mood I'm in
I know there's more to the weather than the western wind
And I feel like I'm gonna feel
Like a willow tree that's got some branches to bendWell, I give you all of my time
But you know I got nothing of the kind
And I take all your troubles I can find
But I know you say, you got nothing, nothing of the kindWell, I was told just to come on in
But I didn't know exactly why or exactly when
So I just stood inside your door
And I waited there a while and then I waited there some moreWell, I give you all of my time
But you know I got nothing of the kind
And I take all your troubles I can find
But I know you say, you got nothing, nothing of the kind

Gilmore is a native of the Texas Panhandle, having been born in Amarillo, Texas and raised in Lubbock, Texas. His earliest musical influence was Hank Williams and the honky tonk brand of country music that his father played. In the 1950s, he was exposed to the emerging rock and roll of other Texans such as Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash and Lubbock native Buddy Holly. He was profoundly influenced in the 1960s by the likes of The Beatles and Bob Dylan and the folk music and blues revival in that decade.
