Nothing to Gain Lyrics

I don't wanna feel like this
I don't really want your kiss
I wanna walk out the door
I don't want you no moreYou feel this way too, I know
You think that it does not show
But I can tell by your touch
You don't want me that muchAnd it's lonely inside of this broken heart
For how long have you felt the pain?
Over and over we've done our part
So there's no use in handing out blame
Two people with nothing left to gainThere's nowhere to go from here
I can't find a road that's clear
And I'm too weak to take it alone
And I'm too scared to go on my ownAnd it's lonely inside of this broken heart
For how long have you felt the shame?
Over and over we've done our part
So there's no use in handing out blame
Two people with nothing left to gainWe're two people with nothing left to gain

Around the time Jack Ingram started writing songs and performing, he was studying psychology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. "Music and psychology come from the same place," he says. "It's about studying why people tick. I write songs to figure out my world, why people act the way they do, why they make the decisions they do."
Lucky for us, Ingram chose a career in music-and discovered an altogether different kind of therapy. He weaved his questions about life into songs whose depth and incisive wit were matched only by their melodic resonance and insistent hooks.
