Nowhere Fast Lyrics

It's getting cold, it's getting dark and the nights are longer everyday
The air is heavy and the clouds will never burn away
And we've been waiting here so long that we've forgotten, what it's like
To run into the fire, looking straight into the, straight into the light
Your heart is trying to rock but it can barely beat at all
You're soul is trying to run but all your body does is crawl
You don't need any signal, you don't need any sign
Nothin's gonna stop you once you cross over the line
I wanna tear it all apart and take the clothes right off your back
We're tearing down the highway and we're breaking away, breaking away
Breaking away, breaking away from the pack
Breaking away from the pack
And if you don't have anywhere to go
You go down on your pedal and you're ready to roll
And even if you don't have anywhere to go
You go down on your pedal and you're ready to roll
Speed, it's all you'll ever need
All you'll ever need to know

You and me we're going nowhere slowly
And we gotta get away from the past
There's nothing wrong with going nowhere baby
But we should be going nowhere fast
Everybody's going nowhere slowly
They're only fighting for the chance to be last
There's nothing wrong with going nowhere baby
But we should be going nowhere fast
It's so much better going nowhere fast
You shouldn't always see your world so clearly
You shouldn't always know your place so well
And all we're doing here is hanging around
And going anywhere, it's gonna be heaven
'Cuz staying here is gonna be hell
And going anywhere, it's gonna be heaven
'Cuz staying here is gotta be hell
I'm getting lost, I'm getting found, I'm getting born again each day
We're dying on the vine until we finally, till we finally get away
The boundaries of this town are closin' in just like a noose
The future's gonna rust if we don't put it to some, put it to some use
Your heart is trying to rock but it can barely beat at all
You're soul is trying to run but all your body does is crawl
You don't need any signal, you don't need any sign
Nothin's gonna stop you once you cross over the line
I wanna tear it all apart and take the clothes right off your back
We're tearing down the highway and we're breaking away, breaking away
Breaking away, breaking away from the pack
Breaking away from the pack
And if you don't have anywhere to go
You go down on the pedal and you're ready to roll
And even if you don't have anywhere to go
You go down on the pedal and you're ready to roll
And your speed it's all you'll ever need
All you'll ever need to know
You and me we're going nowhere slowly
And we gotta get away from the past
There's nothing wrong with going nowhere baby
But we should be going nowhere fast
Everybody's going nowhere slowly
They're only fighting for the chance to be last
There's nothing wrong with going nowhere baby
But we should be going nowhere fast
You and me we're going nowhere slowly
And we gotta get away from the past
There's nothing wrong with going nowhere baby
But we should be going nowhere fast
Everybody's going nowhere slowly
They're only fighting for the chance to be last
There's nothing wrong with going nowhere baby
But we should be going nowhere fast
You and me we're going nowhere slowly
And we gotta get away from the past
There's nothing wrong with going nowhere baby
But we should be going nowhere fast

Meat Loaf (born Marvin Lee Aday on September 27, 1947 in Dallas, Texas) is an American actor and rock and roll performer who came to fame with his album Bat Out of Hell and for his movie performances, including Eddie in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Robert "Bob" Paulson in Fight Club and Jack Black's father in Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny.

The All Of Me Songfacts reports that Meat Loaf described his 12th studio album, Hell in a Handbasket, to Billboard as, "the most personal record I've ever made.” He added: “It's about how I feel the world's gone to hell in a handbasket. It's really the first record that I've ever put out about how I feel about life and how I feel about what's going on at the moment." The LP was released September 30, 2011 in Australia, followed by a release in February and March 2012 worldwide.

Meat Loaf has had a very successful music career spawning some of the greatest selling albums of all time and breaking various records. Although he enjoyed success with Jim Steinman's Bat Out Of Hell Trilogy, he experienced some initial difficulty establishing a steady career within the United States; however, he is considered a legend in the UK and across Europe. In the UK, he is ranked 23rd for number of weeks in the charts overall. Due to his anthemic songs and a performance for Radio Veronica in the Netherlands, he stormed up their Top 100 of all times making a top 10 spot 6 years in a row. He ranks at 96th on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of hard rock." His overall success in Europe and Australia has been exceptional and he is considered one of the top artists of all time.
