Of Course Howard (1979) Lyrics

So do I hear you say...
"Yes, Howard, of course"?I demand special consideration as the most human
Now that's not much to ask, is it?
But it makes me feel like a force for evilNo decadence, no cheap thrills of hate from me
(No decadence, no cheap thrills of hate from me)
No decadence, no cheap thrills of hate from me
(No decadence, no cheap thrills of hate from me)And the best of luck to them"Yes, Howard" (Yes Howard, yes Howard)I love a simple solution
Along with the rest of them
The pin drops
And nails the heartSo do I hear you say...
"Yes, Howard, of course"?I masterminded a thousand details
Loyal to my obsessions
And if you lose me, that's your loss and mine
And I'm sorry
And that's a mark of my respect"Yes, Howard, of course"
"Yes, Howard, of course"
"Yes, Howard, of course"

Magazine were an influential British post punk band founded in 1977 by former Buzzcocks singer Howard Devoto and guitarist John McGeoch. The other members of the band's classic lineup included bassist Barry Adamson, keyboardist Dave Formula, and drummer John Doyle. The band burst onto the scene with the single Shot by Both Sides and released five albums before disbanding in 1981. In 2009 the band resurfaced for half a dozen live performances in the UK, with Noko (who collaborated with Devoto in the late 80s in Luxuria) filling the position of guitarist.
