Older Guys Lyrics

I don't ever think about tomorrow
What or why, it's all on another day
And I think that it's been said
By somebody up aheadThe older guys tell us what it's all about
The older guys really got it all worked out
Since we've got the older guys to show us how
I don't see why we can't stop right nowIt's so costly living down on the ocean
Bed on the beach is where I wanna make my home
And I think that it's been said by somebody up aheadThe older guys get the ladies with their style
The older guys squeeze 'em till it makes them smile
What's the sense of looking like a cop on the beat?
What's the sense of looking like a girl on the street?

Teenage Fanclub are an indie rock band from Bellshill, Scotland near Glasgow, formed in 1989, and were formerly known as The Boy Hairdressers. They have two generally known humorous nicknames "The Fannies" and "The Bellshill Beach Boys"

Teenage Fanclub are revered for their devotion to chiming, Byrds-esque guitars and harmony vocals. Songwriting duties are shared between the three permanent members of the band, Norman Blake, Raymond McGinley, and Gerard Love.

In 2006, the band held two special concerts in London and Glasgow, playing their 1991 masterpiece Bandwagonesque in its entirety.

There have been a succession of drummers, including:

- Francis MacDonald (a prime-mover in the C86 scene, later of the BMX Bandits), the drummer in the original lineup, and in a later period
- Brendan O’Hare (later of Telstar Ponies, Thrapple , Mogwai and Macrocosmica)

and

- Paul Quinn (later of The Primary 5), who was later replaced by the returning Francis MacDonald.

Keyboardist Finlay MacDonald (no relation to Francis MacDonald) has also been a member.
