On My Side (feat. Slug & Lateef) Lyrics

(LEFTEE)
I rip shit
quickly evicerate
suckers who demonstrate
no understanding of my command
and illustrative delivery
creating the misery
diseffectivly killing all of the non creative
but wait a minute,
if at the same time I resuscitate
those that are weaker fate
and think that Hip Hop is dying
all of the negative thoughts they generate
I quickly obleterate
and thats withoput my even trying
but I'd be lying

if I said that the situation ain't critical from verbal ability
to the rythmical quality
to political map
to the way the misleadin' the little ones
the shit is so god damn pitiful
and all for the temporary monetary gain
it's really bullshit
and you can take that little gold
I look for truth and can't find a fiblefull
until I walk the streets of the ghettos of the world
like a criminal
the field of subliminal
subugation
front page oppression
sinister suggestions
subordinations
my motivation to make a change
in the ghettos of the minor two
where of the bright, glorious nation
I got pacience and time is
one my side
plus the corners of the righteousness
on my side
when it's time to ride or die
I stand defiant with the tiger
like colors to the iris of my tripple eye
(SLUG)
and this girl I'm talking about is called Hip Hop
co-sined
climbed up took the kicks off
nose dived
kept the show live
love is the motive
oh my
I'll be post high up in Lo-Fi
let my notes fly above whisper
with no process to help them sound less bitter
guess it's a piece of success perceived
from the narrow streets
full of police and theivs
I'm not your typical
god fearing hypocrite
it's an original
here to hold a fist full of
hard driven rythm
and an army full of kids not listening
to false profets and lost fishermen
So go ahead
put my name in your mouth now
mark it out now
let's start the coundown
more bounce to the pounce
in handshakes
put sound on the landscape
til' the van brakes
when it happens
I'll eather be
nappin' or laughing or rappin'
or just another has-been
but now I'm trapped in the path of passion
grabbing at the wheels like it had to crash
Boom I can't let it get out of hand
and I'm this man trying to find their
promised land
from the world wide wonders
to the south side gutters
to the mothership funk
followed by all my brothers
come on
(LEFTEE)
it's the hardest of
artistry artist
to draw a compliment
a party isn't hardly a party
until were stompin' it
hardly obscunity(?)
for the thought we give
the honoring the skills thats involved
you got to let it live
but honestly
we constantly
are rocking at kids(?)
we responsibly are offering
the sauciest shit
it's like oxygen to most of them
there's love and there's quick
nonestop soulshocking body
rockin' the spit
and this it
so just quit
cuz' it's the number one pick
but I'm impervious to injury
I'm like Micheal Vick
the gay
Imma win the season
I'll deminish the playoffs
Imma clinch and take
the championship
I rip sick
quick kids
sink your ship
shut down your whole squad
like the Ravens defence
I'll put it down on you
even though you thought you knew it
I come around the corner
put out your lights like
Ray Lewis
and I do this
with absolutley no remorse
like a home record
do it in the dodgers divorce(???)
for me,
this is really all part of the course
I'm like
Tiger Woods
hit you with a thunderous force
and pinpoint precission
while ya'll hidin' in the bunker
and hunker down
I'm in the field
makin' decitions
I'm a general
to fight for the cause
of the righteous resaults
telling all of ya'll
it's time to stand tall
Come On!

As a performer, Z-Trip is revered as one of the best live performance DJs in history, by both fans and peers. It's no surprise fans voted him "America's Best DJ" in 2009, beating out over 100 other DJ's in DJ Times highly acclaimed annual readers poll. His worldwide sold out shows continue to set attendance records while drawing critical praise. "One of the great musical moments from Coachella (2002) was the frenzied set by turntable wizard Z-Trip. He had fans howling and bobbing, closing his set with a surprise appearance by Beck," wrote the Los Angles Times. It's a fact that many call him the "godfather of mash-ups", as he is one of the originators of the genre.

His lengthy career has seen him crisscross the globe numerous times, chalking up rave reviews along the way. He returned to Coachella 2010, for his fourth appearance at the festival headlining the Sahara Tent, where the OC Register noted: "Even against two of the biggest draws on the schedule, Z-Trip raked 'em in, filling the Sahara with over 15,000 revelers." His 2009 Detroit Electronic Music Festival performance to over 10,000 stole the festival receiving the lions share of press: "Z-Trip lit up Saturday night, first by jamming with RJD2 then following with a Detroit-saluting mash-up set," beamed Billboard.

At the vanguard of dance music culture, he is at the heart of the DJ Hero™ video game series. Appearing as an avatar and providing several scorching remixes, Z-Trip's relentless vision even defied the advanced technology. An 8-bar scratch that he wanted to incorporate into the game was too much for the game's memory to handle. Beyond being immortalized as a playable character and his contribution of three exclusive tracks to the first installment, he remained a consultant, as well as executive producer, for DJ Hero 2 and created an additional two tracks.

Worldwide sold out shows would be enough for most artists, but not Z-Trip. His career brims with myriad milestones, starting from the now legendary mixtape, Uneasy Listening, Volume 1 , which the Phoenix, AZ native put together with Missouri's notorious DJ P. Back in 2001, the idea of pitting classic rock tracks against hip-hop into a seamless mix that could find the Pharcyde rapping over the Eagles or Metallica grinding it out under the righteous bark of Midnight Oil was unheard of. But instead of hating it as expected, enraptured fans disseminated the initial run of only 1000 CDs across the internet. By year's end, Uneasy Listening had made Z-Trip a burgeoning DJ star. It went on to receive critical acclaim and helped propel Z-Trip to national attention in 2002. It made album of the year lists in Spin, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Wired and XLR8R. More importantly, it also inadvertently created an entirely new genre of music.

Then, on top of being a world-class DJ, Z-Trip established himself as a formidable producer and his major label debut in 2005, Shifting Gears, was given 4 stars by Rolling Stone. Released on Hollywood Records in 2005, the album features guest artists Supernatural, MURS, Lyrics Born, Luke Sick, Aceyalone, Mystic, Prince Whipper Whip, Busdriver, Chester Bennington (from Linkin Park), Chuck D (from Public Enemy) and Zaakir aka Soup (from Jurassic 5). It spawned numerous Top 10 singles in the US and abroad.

A lifelong political activist, Z-Trip was a strong supporter of the Barack Obama's successful campaign to become the President of the United States and released Party For Change and Victory Lap in 2009. Both exceeded 500,000 downloads and favorably reviewed by Wired, URB, BPM, and XLR8R to name a few. Z-Trip's longtime friend and collaborator Shepard Fairey supplied the art.

After 14 months of sold-out shows at his Friday night headlining residency at Rain inside The Palms, Las Vegas, Z-Trip is taking a rest from his crowd-thrilling stint,"Z-Trip's Revolution". Upon displaying his genre bending skills and sharing his stage with many A-level guests including Three 6 Mafia, Common, Rev Run, Too Short, and De La Soul, Z-Trip is taking a rest from stage to focus on his next chapter of recorded music.
