On The Sunny Side Of The Street Lyrics

Grab your coat, don't forget your hat
But leave your worries, leave 'em on the doorstep
Life's sweet, just direct your feet
To the sunny, sunny side of the streetBa, ba-ba, du-ba, that, pitter-pat
You know, that happy tune is my step
Life's so reap, if you dig that beat
On the sunny, sunny side of the streetUsed to walk in the shade
With my blues on parade
While the crackle man
Gettin' stuck in the shadeGet hip, don't be afraid
Move it all over
Kill yourself in the culvert
Only live for a friend who caresRich as Rockefeller
Can't be beat
Gold dust, round my feet
On the sunny side of the street

Robin McKelle (b. 1976) is a U.S. singer of jazz, blues, and soul. She was born Robin McElhatten in Rochester, New York. She is often compared to Ella Fitzgerald for her alto register, and has shared a stage with artists such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Michael McDonald, and Bobby McFerrin. Her musical style is more influenced, however, by Ray Charles, Nina Simone, or Donny Hathaway. She has released two big-band jazz albums, followed by one that featured more blues/soul music in 2010, and a fourth that focussed on soul.
