…On the Run Lyrics

My Lord, my Lord, my Lord
We been facin' this day, facin' us bothOh, the lights go down on a laugh
I'm running through now
And our love is on the run nowThe dust came out, and your heart
It pounds like a drum on the door
Now, come to lose all you ever foundMy Lord, my Lord, my Lord
We been facin' this day, facin' us both
My Lord, my Lord, my Lord
We would chase the mistakes chasin' us both
But tonight, into the lights
We were workin' on making it go
And tonight, under the lights
I was workin' on lettin' you go
And tonight, into the light
We were workin' on makin' it go
And tonight, under the lights
I was workin' on lettin' you goAnd now we're gonna grow up
But now we're gonna grow upOur love was holdin' you down, I know

For now it's time to let you go
Our love might be gone, I know
Your heart is gonna pound and growAnd our love was on the run, I know
And our blood will still pound, you know
And our life, it's been fun, I know
And our hearts will still pound and grow
Our love (I love you back)
My love (I want you back)
My love (I know you're mine)
(I want you now) My love
(I love you back) My love
(I want you back) My love
I know you nowAnd I know you now
And I want you now
Can't love you now
I'm here for you now

Toronto-based trio The Rural Alberta Advantage (Nils Edenloff, Amy Cole, and Paul Banwatt) play indie-rock songs about hometowns and heartbreak, born out of images from growing up in Central and Northern Alberta. They sing about summers in the Rockies and winters on the farm, ice breakups in the spring time and the oil boom’s charm, the mine workers on compressed, the equally depressed, the city’s slow growth and the country’s wild rose, but mostly the songs just try to embrace the advantage of growing up in Alberta.
