One Hundred Punks (2002 Remastered Version) Lyrics

They customized their gear and synchronized
They flame out in the streets with flame in their eyes
Guerrilla operator ain't heard of coolCheck out any wall
One hundred punks rule
One hundred punks ruleA hundred punks run with London town
Down Wardour Street to the Soho Sound
Don't sleep all week only when they fall downA hundred Rumble Boys and Tumble Girls
Protected by steel in a private world
Tomorrow's famous faces advertise todayAnd the studs on their back say
One hundred punks rule
One hundred punks ruleA hundred punks run the loaded gun
They look so sharp they look like one
If you ain't got the look you'll never be oneA hundred punks run with total suss
A hundred good mates you know you can trust
There's never no bother and there's no fussCheck out any wall
One hundred punks rule
One hundred punks ruleAnd Jimmy's number 101
Knows one day he'll be one

Watch him, watch him goA hundred punks run the leather army
I know whose by my side not at home with TV
Even when I'm down I hear them sing for meCheck out any wall
One hundred punks rule
One hundred punks ruleCheck out any wall
One hundred punks rule
One hundred punks ruleI checked out all the walls
One hundred punks rule
One hundred punks rule okay

The core members of Generation X, a seminal British punk rock band with heavy new wave and power pop influences, were singer-songwriter Billy Idol (who has since maintained a remarkable 30+ year solo career) and bassist Tony James (later of Sigue Sigue Sputnik and for a spell Sisters of Mercy before settling in Carbon/Silicon). Generation X was formed in 1976 after guitarist Billy Idol (a.k.a William Broad) and bassist Tony James decided to go out on their own, leaving Gene October, the leader of their then band Chelsea.
