One Time Lyrics

I believe in you, not because of you, but because of God in you. I pray that God would cause you to soar high like an eagle. Higher than the thoughts of others, higher than high. I thank you my brothers and sisters for what you have done. And I know we’re not through yet, for this is just the beginning. However, words could not express my love.
Check, Check
I caused more strain and anguish to my grandmomma and my granddaddy
Than all 9 of their children combined.
Phone calls from jail Im goin through hell.
Talkin to em through glass “Please relax now..”
I’ve put em in pradicaments on multiple occasions
I can still hear em tellin me “I’ll be damned Jason..”
Used to beat me upside the head with the bible “Boy boy boy..”
I can still hear em prayin for me “Lord Lord Lord.. please do something with this baby we done raised.”
And this was when I was well beyond and way past the age of accountability
What I did was on me, but they felt it was on them..
I miss ya grandpa (uhn)
That man didn’t play no games, kept it 100
Taught me to worship Jesus

Taught me to get money (hah)
Taught me to keep a straight face even when I was scared
And it was by his guidance that I came out prepared
Chorus:
We die how we live,
We live how we die
If someone were to ask me tonight
“Stak whats your biggest regret in this life?”
Its that we only get one time to get it right..
X2
Lemme get my ink pen, you done got me started thinkin..
Writing down my recollections
Recalling my reflections
The bodies of murdered children
Maybe when the death toll reach 1,000,000 they’ll do somethin
But until then these children need real men
Willin to stand up for them as well as themselves
Because we share the common ground of passing through Hell..
Where nobody got no daddy, some people got no momma
Used to holla and my partna like “Hey I needa borrow yo momma..”
“Miss Thompson I promise we only did it once but she said she pregnant and excuse my language but I’m scared as fuck, Im 17, Im not cut out to be nobodys daddy.”
Now I wonder what woulda happen had lil girly had that baby
Maybe Id be preachin,
maybe I’d be killed out there on the spot tryna get diapers and Enfamil
My mistakes are pages that fill the book about me
and I’m so amazed that it didn’t end at chapter 23
Feel me?
We die how we live,
We live how we die
If someone were to ask me tonight
“Stak whats your biggest regret in this life?”
Its that we only get one time to get it right..
I fell so many times I said “Whats the point of gettin up?”
Made it to a place where I didn’t even give a (shhh)
“Jason, give it up.. You’re dreamin.” They told me
Out here tryna make it (?) quarter (shh)
God had his hands, his hands on me
In time I learned how to pray for my enemies
If you see me fighting a tiger, please come fast
Before I beat the stripes off his big dumb ass
I remember back when I was gone
My people searched the whole house, I just wasn’t at home
They’d leave a light on so I could find my way back in,
and pray before they go to bed that I’d make it back again
I’ve came so far since then
God got me out when the devil had me fenced in
But that’s just my opinion
And it oughta be yours if you got common sense
Cuz I rock cross country from L.A. to Providence
Praise God
We live
We Die
One time
You crazy if you think Imma waste mine..
We die how we live,
We live how we die
If someone were to ask me tonight
“Stak whats your biggest regret in this life?”
Its that we only get one time to get it right..

Haystak (born Jason Winfree) is a rapper native of Nashville, Tennessee. He is most renown for his style of rapping he refers to as "white trash", that talks about growing up white, poor, and in the South.

Early life

Haystak was born to teenage parents, raised by his grandmother, and grew up in the poorest environment. As he got older, Haystak began engaging in a life of crime. But all that ended after being arrested on charges of drug possession at the age of 15.[citation needed]

Music

Haystak began rapping after being released two years later, but no one gave him the chance to prove himself. So Haystak took a daring chance and joined a local label called Street Flava Records and producers Kevin Grisham and Sonny Paradise. They produced his debut album, Mak Million, in 1998. With his description of the southern way of life from a white boy's point of view, Haystak won the respect of his peers in the underground rap scene and was recognized by the people of Nashville, both white and black. Two years later, Car Fulla White Boys came out with many fans waiting eagerly. With his success, Koch Records signed Haystak and rereleased Car Fulla White Boys that same year. In 2002, Haystak's third album, The Natural, was released on Koch. Since then, Haystak's fame has grown greatly, and he even played a small role in the 2005 film Hustle and Flow.
