One for My Baby (And One More for the Road) Lyrics

It's quarter to three
There's no one in the place
Except you and meSo set 'em up Joe
I got a little story
I think you should knowWe're drinking my friend
To the end
Of a brief episodeMake it one for my baby
And one more for the roadI got the routine
Put another nickel
In the machineFeelin' so bad
Won't you make the music
Easy and sadI could tell you a lot
But it's not
In a gentleman's codeJust make it one for my baby
And one more for the roadYou'd never know it
But buddy I'm a kind of poet
And I've got a lot of things
I'd like to sayAnd when I'm gloomy

Won't you listen to me
Till it's talked awayWell, that's how it goes
And Joe I know your gettin'
Anxious to closeAnd thanks for the cheer
I hope you didn't mind
My bending your earBut this torch that I found
It's gotta be drowned
Or it's soon might explodeMake it one for my baby
And one more for the roadThe long, it's so long
The long and winding road

Robert Peter Williams (born 13 February 1974, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire) is an English singer, songwriter, and record producer. While Williams' early pop career started with the hit boy band Take That, he has found far greater success since taking his leave in 1995. Williams has sold over 70 million records worldwide, which ranks him among the best-selling music artists worldwide. He is the best-selling British solo artist in the United Kingdom and the best selling non-Latino artist in Latin America.

Six of his albums are among the top 100 biggest-selling albums in the United Kingdom. He has also been honoured with seventeen BRIT Awards—more than any other artist—and seven ECHO Awards. In 2004, he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame after being voted as the "Greatest Artist of the 1990s."

The Candy Songfacts reports that Williams teamed up with his Take That bandmate Gary Barlow, to write the first single from his ninth studio album, Take The Crown. "Candy" will be released October 29, 2012.
