One for the Road Lyrics

No I never knew you
We both went to different schools
Me so scared of the rules
You chasing all the girlsBut it seems to me
We never grew up we just got ourselves free
Inventing what we could be
To buy all their curlsGet up and dance
Get up and smile
Get up and drink
To the ones who are gone in the shortest whileShe was just eighteen she collapsed
And they took her away
She didn't make it for more than an hour
Then she was goneWhat do you say?
When someone's been taken that way
Before they've had a day to fly in the sunGet up and dance
Get up and smile
Get up and drink
To the ones who are gone in the shortest whileGet up and dance

Get up and smile
Get up and drink
To the to the ones who are gone in the shortest whileI'll sing my sorrow
I'll sing my sorrow
I'll sing my sorrow
I'll sing my sorrowNo I never knew you
We both ended up as different fools
Me so scared of the rules
You chasing all the girlsBut it seems to me
We never grew up we just got ourselves free
Inventing what we could be
To buy all their curlsGet up and dance
Get up and smile
Get up and drink
To the ones who are gone in the shortest whileGet up and dance
Get up and smile
Get up and drink
To the to the ones who are gone in the shortest whileI'll sing my sorrow
I'll sing my sorrow
I'll sing my sorrow
I'll sing my sorrowI'll sing my sorrow
I'll sing my sorrow
I'll sing my sorrow
I'll sing my sorrow

Ocean Colour Scene is an alternative rock band which formed in Birmingham, England in 1990. Currently, the band consists of Simon Fowler (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Steve Cradock (guitar, organ), Andy Bennett (guitar), Tony Boylan (guitar), Dan Sealey (bass) and Oscar Harrison (drums). Founding bassist Damon Minchella left the band amicably in 2003. Falling between the energetic pop/rock of mod revival and the psychedelic experimentations of Traffic, Ocean Colour Scene came to be one of the leading bands of the traditionalist, post- Britpop of the mid-'90s.
