Only Daddy That'll Walk the Line Lyrics

Everybody knows you've been steppin' on my toes
And I'm gettin' pretty tired of it
You keep a-steppin' out of line and you're messin' with my mind
If you had any sense, you'd quitEver since you were a little bitty teeny girl
You said I was the only man in this whole world
Now you better do some thinkin' then you'll find
You got the only daddy that'll walk the lineI keep workin' every day, all you want to is play
I'm tired of stayin' out all night
Hey, I'm comin' unglued from your funny little moods
Now honey, baby, that ain't right'Cause ever since you were a little bitty teeny girl
You said I was the only man in this whole world
Now you better do some thinkin' then you'll find
You got the only daddy that'll walk the lineYou keep packin' up my clothes, lordy, everybody knows
That you're still just a-puttin' me on
But when I start walkin', gonna hear you start squawkin'
And beggin' me to come back homeOh, ever since you were a little bitty teeny girl
You said I was the only man in this whole world
Now you better do some thinkin' then you'll find

You got the only daddy that'll walk the lineNow you better do some thinkin' then you'll find
You got the only daddy that'll walk the line

Around the time Jack Ingram started writing songs and performing, he was studying psychology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. "Music and psychology come from the same place," he says. "It's about studying why people tick. I write songs to figure out my world, why people act the way they do, why they make the decisions they do."
Lucky for us, Ingram chose a career in music-and discovered an altogether different kind of therapy. He weaved his questions about life into songs whose depth and incisive wit were matched only by their melodic resonance and insistent hooks.
