Only Wanna Please You Lyrics

Never made you cry, never told you lies
I was there when you needed me
When chips were down
Who stayed around?
Better recognize
Nobody but me, what size you need?Come and let me feed
You love so we can grow
So close together
Go through any weather
I only live just to please you
So stop playin' boo'Cuz I want you
(There's nothing I won't do)
Girl I gotta have you
(I thought you knew)
How bad I need you
(And I'll go)
I'll go that extra mile
I only live to please youWhat must I do to prove to you

That I'm the one
You should give your love to
It'd be a mistake if you don't take
All of the love that I've tried to giveI'm at your service, so don't be nervous
I'll never do any wrong to you
My only reason, my only purpose
On this Earth is to please you
So stop playin' boo'Cuz I want you
(There's nothing I won't do)
Girl I gotta have you
(I thought you knew)
How bad I need you
(And I'll go)
I'll go that extra mile
I only live to please youMy only reason here on this Earth
Is to treat you right
Make you feel real good
Just like a woman should
Let me do my job, make your heart throb
Only for me baby, yeah, yeah, yeahThere's no other purpose
That I'm here for
Baby but to love you
Won't you stop frontin' boo?
Tell me what you gonna doLet's stop all this masquerade
And let's show what you really feel
I'm the one for you babe
Now tell me what's the deal
You better stop playin' boo'Cuz I want you
(There's nothing I won't do)
Girl I gotta have you
(I thought you knew)
How bad I need you
(And I'll go)
I'll go that extra mile
I only live to please youNever made you cry
('Cuz I want you)
Never told you lies
Always tried to be there for you
(Girl I gotta have you)
When all the chips were down
(How bad I need you)
Who stayed around?
You better recognize
(I'll go that extra mile)
(I only live to please you)Well, let me come, let me feed
Come feed you with my love
('Cuz I want you)
Grow close together through any weather
(Girl, I gotta have you)
'Cuz you're all I'm thinkin' ofWhat must I do to prove to you?
(How bad I need you)
That I'm the one for you
Stop frontin' baby, stop masqueradin'
(I'll go that extra mile)
Tell me what you gonna do, oh oh
(I only live to please you)'Cuz I want you
(Oh, oh, oh, oh)
Girl, I gotta have you
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
How bad I need you
(Mmm)

Keith Sweat (born Keith Crier on July 22, 1961 in Harlem, New York), is a popular R&B/soul singer, songwriter, record producer and a major contributor to the New jack swing era. Before becoming a recording artist, Sweat worked for the commodities market in the New York Mercantile Exchange. He sang at nightclubs throughout New York City until he was discovered and offered a recording contract with Elektra Records in 1987.

Make It Last Forever era: 1985-1993

Sweat started his musical career as a member of a well known Harlem band called "Jamilah" in 1975. With the help of Jamilah, Sweat was able to hone his craft as a lead singer by performing regionally throughout the Tri-State area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The group was started by Larry Peebles, a talented bass player from 116th Street and Lenox Avenue, and included several members who came in and out of the group; among those included was Gregory Ross, a well known Harlem keyboard player who currently lives and works in the Los Angeles area.

On November 25, 1987, Sweat released his debut album Make It Last Forever, which sold three million copies. The biggest hit from this album was "I Want Her" (#1 R&B/#5 Pop), and the title track from the album was hit #2 on the R&B charts.

Sweat continued to chart fairly well with his sophomore album I'll Give All My Love To You, which hit #6 on the Billboard 200 chart, and Keep It Comin debuted in the Top 20 of the album chart.
