Singer, lyricist & fiction writer Kristi Stassinopoulou (Κρίστη Στασινοπούλου) is a native Athenian active on Greece’s underground music scene for many years, has generated a wide appeal in the international world music circuit. The successful blend of traditional Greek & Balkans rhythms, sound colours, haunting Byzantine vocal lines, Rembetika music, psychedelic rock, ambience and electronica, composed mostly by her husband Stathis Kaliviotis, combined with Kristi’s vivid scenic appearance and personality mixed with her colourful band, sparked great response and led to frequent appearances in music festivals and clubs mostly in Europe and N. America. There are two albums solo, “Kristi Stassinopoulou” 1986, “By the Lake with the Poppies” 1993, and five aside with her husband composer & multiorganist Stathis Kaliviotis: “Ifantokosmos” (Woven World) 1997, “Echotropia” 1999, “Ta Mistika ton Vrachon” (The Secrets of the Rocks) 2002, “Taxidoscopio” 2006, "Greekadelia" 2012.
