Out There In the Night Lyrics

You left that morning
You gave me no warning
You were my best friend
Oh, I can't live without you
There was something about you
I want you back againBaby, sometimes I think of you
Out there in the night
All the comforts of home have been deniedPeople find it hard to understand
I never cried before
One thing's for certain
There's nothing around that
Could make me cry no more
Baby, sometimes I think of you
Out there in the night
All the comforts of home have been denied(guitar solo)Compared to all of them
You stand out
You give me pure unspoilt love
They're all reaching and grabbing

All you did was give me
Love and love and love and loveSometimes I think of you
Out there in the night
Roaming the empty streets
Looking for your life
Sometimes I think of you
Out there in the night
You ain't here with me
And nothing seems rightSometimes I think of you
Out there in the night

The Only Ones are a power pop band which formed in 1976 in London, England. They consist of Peter Perrett (vocals, guitar), John Perry (guitar), Alan Mair (bass) and Mike Kellie (drums). The band is best known for their 1978 single "Another Girl, Another Planet" which was called "arguably the greatest rock single ever recorded" by Allmusic contributor Andy Claps. The band broke up in 1982 and reunited in 2007. They were associated with the punk rock 70's punk scene, yet straddled the musical territory in between punk, power pop and hard rock, with noticeable influences from psychedelia.
