Outside Looking In Lyrics

Staring, silent, naked and cold
Outside looking in
Peeling away this fragile shell
To face the fear withinAnd the man in the mirror looks on
As the cuts beginOutside looking in
Getting over my fears and under my skin
Tearing myself apart to feel whole again
Outside looking inRunning, tired, tortured and torn
Outside looking in
Clawing away these open scars
To heal the wounds withinAnd the man in the mirror looks out
As he reaches inOutside looking in
Getting over my fears and under my skin
Tearing myself apart to feel whole again
Outside looking inOutside looking in
Getting over my fears and under my skin
Tearing myself apart to feel whole again
Outside looking inToo many things left undone, too late to turn back

I could change course before the end
But when all is said and done
All I really want is a chance to start againStaring, silent, naked and cold
Outside looking in
Feeling my way through this wilderness
For a place to beginAnd the man in the mirror reaches out
To the man withinOutside looking in
Getting over my fears and under my skin
Tearing myself apart to feel whole again
Outside looking inOutside looking in
Getting over my fears and under my skin
Tearing myself apart to feel whole again
Outside looking in

Fates Warning is a progressive metal band, formed in 1983 by John Arch, Jim Matheos, Victor Arduini, Joe DiBiase, and Steve Zimmerman in Connecticut, USA. The band directly contributed to the establishment of the progressive metal genre. Their early works are considered by many as very important works defining the genre itself. The middle-period works are considered as a progress in songwriting and musicianship as the band evolved. Recent works, since 1997, are in a heavy-progressive, more mature style.
