Overdose Lyrics

[Lecrae Verse 1]
Im feelin good, forget my feeling tho
Let's talk about my fillin, filled with tha Holy Ghost
And I aint talkin smoke, I'm talkin fire
I'm tryna shock the world, before they cut my wires
I'm on that overdose, old me comatose
See him let me know cause if you did you probably seen a ghost
Fire in my bones, I'm spittin flames
Boy that Word of God get at you like a Twitter name
Truth up in my veins, everyday I need it
But you don't hear me tho, you used to different speakers
They speak death and they stories aint at all the truth,
They like to think they ballers, they just some foul shooters,
Im so real 100 percent authentic
I know how fake feel i dropped him off at the clinic
Told em he need rehabilitation "gone take him" get him clean
Met that Triune Light "what's that?" triple beam[Chorus]
Gone check him in, before they close the door

You got that Rehab, this is the overdose
I'm on that overdose, I'm on that overdose
I'm on that overdose, old me "comatose"[Lecrae Verse 2]
They think I'm churchy, they think ya boy a lame
Yeah I live for Jesus, I'm unashamed
They talkin reckless what you 'spectin from the walkin dead
You try to give em life, they want that death instead
But 1st John make it clear what they wanna hear
Hear go that overdose, go stick it in they ear
I got my prescription, it's all consuming
Eat His Flesh drink His Blood, Holy Communion
I know the Truth is hitting home like Barry Bonds
Yeah my God run the streets like a marathon
Yes! Im'a believer Yes! I rep the Kingdom
They ask me where to find the Lord they aint never seen Him
Homie God aint got no longitude or latitude
He's on another level you can't put a latter to
Aye gone check him in, before they close the door
You got that Rehab, this is the overdose[Chorus]
Gone check him in, before they close the door
You got that Rehab, this is the overdose
I'm on that overdose, I'm on that overdose
I'm on that overdose, old me "comatose"

From the beginning of his music ministry, Lecrae's heart has always been dedicated to broadening the fan's view of who God truly is. Now after extensive touring opportunities across the U.S. from large to small venues, from churches to outdoor stages, with audiences ranging from the inner-city to the suburbs, Lecrae has gained a first-hand insight of the issues and struggles that people are facing. After having a chance to see how so many music fans--particularly the youth--are infatuated with modern-day rappers and multi-media stardom, Lecrae wants them to instead become infatuated with Jesus Christ.

While some may look at him as a star or famous rapper from Atlanta, GA, Lecrae's only goal in After the Music Stops is to urge listeners to glorify God with their lifestyle by pointing them to the person of Jesus Christ. Lecrae has purposed to let them know that God is more concerned about what life looks like after the music stops. "Im all about representing Christ with your whole life whether that's in a crowd or in everyday life," says Lecrae. He desperately wants everyone to understand Gods call is about a complete lifestyle devoted to the Lord, not just about performing at shows.

Introspective songs like "I Did It For You" and crowd-pleasing tracks such as "Run" showcase Lecraes unique ability to mix his distinctive southern style into a versatile sound of authentic Hip Hop. Keeping a tight connection to his listeners while delivering a heart-convicting message with passionate energy, After the Music Stops is sure to be an inspirational tool in the arsenal of those striving to live for the glory of Christ.
