Painkiller Lyrics

I see your phone's been cut off again
Did you shoot all your troubles up the vein?
Someone saw you, said, you were deadly pale
Another night in hell, another night in jailLooks like the Chinaman's reelin' you in
Looks like the horse is gonna win
Looks like the monkeys are holding on tight
Say hello to darkness, goodbye light, painkillerAnd as obscurity beckons the call, it seems oblivion
Is the only thing to cushion your fall
I believe that everything is gonna be too late
It all sinks along with the ship you chose to hateLooks like the Chinaman's reelin' you in
Looks like the horse is gonna win
Looks like the monkeys are holding on tight
Say hello to darkness, goodbye light, painkillerNow you sold all your possessions
And not only your own
There's miles to go yet
But you're at the end of your roadSo you finally surrender
To the endless sleep
Found dead next mornin'

With your life at your feetLooks like the Chinaman's reelin' you in
Looks like the horse is gonna win
Looks like the monkeys
Are holding on tight, say hello to darknessLooks like the Chinaman's reelin' you in
Looks like the horse is gonna win
Looks like the monkeys are holding on tight
Say hello to darkness, goodbye light, painkillerSail into the darkness goodbye light
Say hello to darkness, goodbye light
Say hello, goodbye

Backyard Babies is a Swedish Rock'n Roll band, formed in the city of Nässjö in 1987, originally comprising singer Tobbe, guitarist Dregen, bassist Johan Blomquist and drummer Peder Carlsson. After recording a rough demo and playing a few local live dates, in 1989 the group dismissed Tobbe and replaced him with singer Nicke Borg; two more demos followed, as did a national tour, and in 1991 the Backyard Babies launched their first official release, the EP Something to Swallow.
