Papa Come Quick (Jody and Chico) Lyrics

Papa come quick, Jody's gone to the cityWhat we gonna do now that Jody's goneShe left a note on the TV and Papa it's a pityWhat we gonna do now that Jody's gone.Mama's been cryin in the kitchen since morninShe cried right through As The World TurnsI seen it myself and papa it's a bitch'nLet's haul ass before the baby gets burned.Gas up the old Ford, get out the road mapThey got a head start about half a dayLoad up the shotgun, put it in the gunrackJody's with Chico down in East L.A.It must have been that wild-eyed, silver-toungued schemerA girl like Jody don't think for herself.Him and that Harley and his damn JalapenaSmokin that stuff'll make you hurt yourself.Papa come quickPapa come quickPapa come quickPapa come onFirst verseGas up the old Ford, get out the road mapThey got a head start about half a dayStop at the Mobil, pump up the the flat wheelJody & Chico and his ding dang deal.Second verse

Bonnie Raitt, (born November 8, 1949) is an American blues and R&B singer, songwriter, and guitarist who was born in Burbank, California, the daughter of Broadway musical star John Raitt. Raitt began playing guitar at an early age, something not a lot of her high school girlfriends did. "I had played a little at school and at camp," she later recalled in a July 2002 interview. "My parents would drag me out to perform for my family, like all parents do, but it was a hobby—nothing more...I think people must wonder how a white girl like me became a blues guitarist.
