Paraphrased Lyrics

Can't be quoted, it's hard to say
Paralyzed
Doesn't move, it just blinks its eyes
Paranoid
Just another trap to avoid
Parallel
Never crosses, goes straight as hellIt's child-like, persuading
It's night-time lactating
It's pre-season training
Object
A doorman's composure
A patient's disclosure
Imposter's exposure
SubjectUnderstood
No confession, you said it good
Undeclared
Doesn't know if it's live or dead
Undesired

Cannot see that its charm expired
UnconcernedWhen interest cannot be returned
It's christened, the entry
It's paid off, the sentry
It's here, evidently
ObjectAn actor portraying
A cleric obeying
Enormer betraying
Subject
Sometimes my
Thoughts are infrequent explosionsSometimes I
Drop definition from my words
Sometimes my
Speech recalls moments of violence
Sometimes I
Can't be repeated, I can't be
Paraphrased
No

Parquet Courts is a band from New York City. At the center of the group is A. Savage, who at this point is known for his collaborations with projects like Fergus & Geronimo, Teenage Cool Kids and Wiccans. Savage is joined by three other musicians (“three quarters Texans and three quarters Pisces”) and describes the bands’ debut release as The Fall meets Neil Young. On the band’s debut release, “American Specialties”, this all makes sense. The quartet wanders through the American and British underground, picking away their favorite parts with confidence.
