Pedal to the Metal Lyrics

I've been held back way too long, sung in the same old songs
This last speed's too low for me, I'm changing to a higher gear
Some guys like to live real quiet, rather get them tired
Try to live my best for you babe, but it seems like it's your [flame]
Ain't gonna wait, nothing can stop me now, we're back in the race, ow
Pedal to the metal, full speed ahead, don't stop (now) - don't stop me now
Pedal to the metal, full speed ahead, don't stop me now
You're so fast and free your town, tried to settle down
Listen girl, that's just fine, but forty years from now
[Don't roll the dice], I need some rock 'n roll
Been rolling the dice - look out
Pedal to the metal, full speed ahead, don't stop (now) - don't stop me now
Pedal to the metal, full speed ahead, don't stop me now
Pedal to the metal - pedal to the metal
Pedal to the metal - pedal to the metal
(Solo)
Yeah! Uh!
Pedal to the metal, full speed ahead, pedal to the metal - ohh

Pedal to the metal, full speed ahead - yeah - pedal to the metal - c'mon
Pedal to the metal, full speed ahead, don't stop now
Pedal to the metal - to the metal - full speed ahead
Don't stop (now) - don't stop me now
Pedal to the metal, full speed ahead, don't stop - don't stop - me now

Vandenberg was a dutch hard rock band, named after guitarist Ad van den Berg (Adrian Vandenberg). In 1981 Ad van den Berg worked with vocalist Jos Veldhuizen, bassist Peter Van Eyk, and drummer Bico De Gooijer in a band called Teaser. He auditioned for Thin Lizzy, without success. With a new line-up (Bert Heerink (vocals), Ad Van Den Berg (guitar), Dick Kemper (bass), and Jos Zoomer on drums), Teaser recorded a demo that fell into the hands of pop-journalist Kees Baars. Baars offered to manage the group, and contracted the band at Atlantic Records in the U.S..
