Perfect Stranger Lyrics

I woke up kinda sick, the air is getting kind of thick
And I’m tired of everyone
Like a book on a rainy day, I’m the one left off the page
Well, it’s too much time in the sun
Have you ever wanted to try
When everything’s going right by?
Don’t need another perfect stranger driving me insane
Constantly saying it's time for you to change
(It's time for you to change)
I don’t need another perfect stranger to shout out from the sky
Explaining the reasons, the meaning of my life
(The meaning of my life)
So when did yes turn into no
And should you stay or should you go?
Well, you’re always stuck in between
I tried to fake a laugh or two
But my mistakes were all for you
It's too much pain, it's hard to swallow

You’ll be there and gone tomorrow
I can’t spend another night or day
I can't hear another word you say, the words you say
Don’t need another perfect stranger driving me insane
Constantly saying it’s time for you to change
(Time for you to change)
I don’t need another perfect stranger to shout out from the sky
Explaining the reasons, the meaning to my life
(The meaning to my life)
If not for you, oh, if not for you
We all started strangers
And yeah, I'm perfect without you
We all started strangers
My world is perfect without you
Don’t need another perfect stranger driving me insane
Constantly saying it's time for you to change
(It’s time for you to change)
I don’t need another perfect stranger shouting from the sky
Explaining the reasons, the meaning of my life
(The meaning of my life)
Don’t need another perfect stranger ringing in my ear
Yelling and screaming, I don't wanna hear
(Don't wanna hear)
I don’t need another perfect stranger trying to run my life
Constantly pushing, I want your advice
I don’t need another perfect stranger, oh, oh, oh, oh

Cheap Trick is a U.S. rock/power pop band from Rockford, Illinois, that gained popularity in the late 1970s. The band members are Rick Nielsen (guitarist and main songwriter), Bun E. Carlos (born Brad Carlson) (drums), Robin Zander (vocals and guitars), and Tom Petersson (bass guitar). Though they have had only brief flirtations with mainstream success, Cheap Trick has held a substantial following through regular touring and a hard-edged yet blissful pop sound that combines the tunefulness of The Beatles with the speed and energy of punk rock. The band's biggest hits over the years include "I Want You to Want Me", "Surrender", "Dream Police", "Don't Be Cruel" (a cover of Elvis Presley's hit), and "The Flame". Their most recent release, The Latest, has gained critical acclaim. They also wrote and performed the theme song for "The Colbert Report".

Nielsen and Petersson originally formed the group as "Fuse" in 1967, with Carlos joining the group several years later; however, when Zander joined as vocalist in 1972, the group was renamed Cheap Trick. Zander is considered one of the best rock vocalists. Tom Petersson was known for playing custom made 8, 12, and even a 18 string custom bass made by Modulus for Tom in 1981.

Rick Nielsen also has a penchant for unusual instruments. He owns and plays a five-necked solidbody electric guitar (it can be seen in the video for the song "She's Tight", among others).
