Much like Bullet For My Valentine lead singer/guitarist Matt Tuck pondered, Inner*Vision lead singer/guitarist also wondered where all the riffs had gone? Fortunately, the "riff" has returned to metal over the past few years. Unfortunately, the "riff" is beginning to sound all too much the same from band to band. Many bands these days are trading in creative melodies and transitions, and are simply resorting to the "chugga-chugga" breakdown riff with incomprehensible screams over it.

The first incarnation of Inner*Vision was created in 2002 in Sugar Land, Texas. Unfortunately, only a handful of shows were played in and around Sugar Land before the band fell apart to members going their separate ways. The reaction however to these shows, as well as the 6-song demo recorded, was extremely favorable and created many fans of the band.

Fast forward 5 years as sole original member Kash Sarkaria, 22, hooked up with drummer Daniel Carrion, 20, whom he had known through his brother. The pair started playing shows in and around Austin as a duo, while living in nearby Georgetown. Their first show was Dec 28, 2006 @ the now defunct RedRum. After playing a handful of shows as a two-piece and getting a favorable reaction, the band finally found a bass player in Kyle Nowell, 22. Now a 3-piece, the band started hitting the Austin venue circuit pretty heavily, as well as branching out to San Antonio and Houston for a few shows. The reactions were all extremely positive after every show the band played, and their 5-song demo, recorded in 2007, would often sell out.

In the summer of 2007, drummer Daniel Carrion would leave band for personal reasons, and so the search for a new drummer and the already needed lead guitarist was on. Kash's brother, RJ, filled in on drums for the remaining shows the band already booked, because they wanted to fulfill their previous commitment to the venues and the music fans. After a couple months of searching, Eddie Nagy, 18, was hired on to play lead guitar while Leo Hwang, 20, became the newest drummer of the band.

With the line-up finally intact, the band is currently hard at work rehearsing for upcoming shows, as well as crafting many new songs, which the band claims are taking them in a heavier direction. The new songs are more aggressive with more complex parts, but are still extremely accessible enough to bang your head, tap your foot, or sing along to. Be on the lookout, as Inner*Vision are about to make their "comeback" to playing live all around Texas. And they plan on coming back strong. Inner*Vision always promises an intense live experience. Also be on the lookout for the band's new E.P., which they plan on recording in January '08. Read more on Last.fm.
