Points West Lyrics

Did they show you how the west was one
When you were young?
Did they show you hold a gun
How to walk into the setting sun?Do you believe in freedom advertised?
Do you believe that we've been hypnotized?
We rule the world and as talk in the mall
With TV theaters and shopping malls
Did they show you the west was one?Did they show you how the world was one
When you were young?
Did they tell you not to settle for less
You're the prodigal son and you can never be doneDo you believe in freedom advertised?
Do you believe that we've been hypnotized?
We rule the world with the birthday trust
With fist all full of American lust
Did they show how the world was one?Did they show you the west was one?
Did they show you the west was one?
Did they show you the west was one?
(Did they show you the west was one?)Did they show you the west was one?

(Did they show you the west was one?)
Did they show you the west was one?
(Did they show you the west was one?)Did they show you the west was one?
(Did they show you the west was one?)
Did they show you the west was one, one, one?

"All we know is what came before/There's no revolution anymore," sings The Explosion, but the chorus isn't a resolution--it's an indictment. Hailing from Boston and referencing influences riding the T, as well as the London tube, this rowdy quintet released its first full-length and an EP through Jade Tree before heading off for the majors. Well schooled in the formula and the expected party line, The Explosion eschews both for a down-to-earth, nobody's hero approach. For quick reference, try "Reactor" or "Terrorist" (Flash Flash Flash).
