Poor House Lyrics

You walk in, half past nine
Lookin' like a queen
Serving me with papers
Calling me obsceneWoman, I've tried so hard
Just to do my best
They're gonna put me in the poor house
And you'll take all the restUp all day, down all night
Working on the job
Everything I do is wrong
I always end up rightWoman, I tried so hard
Done all I can do
They're gonna put me in the poor house
Keep all the best for youOoo in the poor house
Oh, hit it
Ooo in the poor house, ohIf I drove a pulpwood truck
Would you love me more?
Will you bring me diamonds
And hang around my door?Woman, I've done my best

There ain't much left for me
They're gonna put me in the poor house
And throw away the keyIn the poor house
Ooo in the poor houseYou walk in, half past nine
Lookin' like a queen
Serving me with papers
Calling me obsceneWoman I've tried so hard
Just to do my best
They're gonna put me in the poor house
And you'll take all the restIn the poor house
Ooo in the poor house
In the poor house
Ooo in the poor house

Traveling Wilburys were a late 1980s supergroup consisting of George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan. The band recorded two albums during the two years they were together: Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 and Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3
Wilburys was a slang term coined by Harrison and Lynne during the recording of Cloud Nine as a pet name for various types of equipment in the recording studio; Harrison, referring to errors caused by malfunctioning equipment, jokingly remarked to Lynne: "We'll bury 'em in the mix".
