Power's In The People Lyrics

[Verse 1:]Hey brotha, Hey there brotha, What's on your mind
Guessin no one's asked you in a quite a long time
Hey my sista, What's goin down
How you livin' while the world is spinnin' round
[Verse 2:]Doctor's hands are tied, Teacher's underpaid
We put all our worth in the money that is made
Times are changin, they're movin so fast
Got to stick together or we ain't gonna last
[Chorus:]We gotta fight, To survive, As a people
We gotta fight, fight, fight for our lives
If there's ever a time, In your life
You better fight, fight, fight to survive
[Verse 3:]Well it's dog eat dog, Family livin' on the street
Daddy's beggin' for money, all he wants is a drink
Television ain't the only place to get the news
Talk to a neighbor, Pay back a favor
There's someone countin' on you
[Verse 4:]

Children left alone, Told to mind their own
Momma's workin late and she ain't comin home
All our young folk, growin up so fast
Gotta stick together or we ain't gonna last
[Chorus:]We gotta fight, To survive, As a people
We gotta fight, fight, fight for our lives
If there's ever a time, in your life
You better fight, fight, fight to survive
[Bridge:]What about the future, Find a new solution
Open our mind, still got time, start a revolution
Every woman, child and man lend a helping hand
All for one and one for all, The Power's In The People
[Chorus:]We gotta fight, To survive, as a people
We gotta fight, fight, fight for our lives
If there's ever a time, in your life
You better fight, fight, fight to survive
Fight, To survive, as a people
We gotta fight, fight, fight for our lives
If there's ever a time, in your life
You better fight, fight, fight to survive

Marc Broussard (born January 14, 1982) is an American singer and songwriter. The Louisiana native released his first major album (with Island Def Jam Records) on August 3, 2004. The album's title Carencro pays tribute to the musician's hometown of Carencro, Louisiana. His style is best described as "Bayou Soul," a mix of funk, blues, R&B, rock, and pop, matched with distinct Southern roots.

Marc is best known for the songs "Where You Are" and "Home." Broussard previously released several independent efforts, including 2002's Momentary Setback which spawned the hit "The Wanderer", a song about self discovery. A re-worked version of the song appears on Carencro. As of July 2005, "Home" was released as a single.

Although Broussard is rather unknown, he is characteristically known and critically praised for his strong vocals. However, he has garnered an uptick in popularity thanks to a snappy tune "Must Be The Water" which is featured in television commercials on TNT for the 2008 NBA All-Star game held in New Orleans.
