Prisoner of Society Lyrics

Well we don't need no one to tell us what to do
Oh yes we're on our own and there's nothin' you can do
So we don't need no one like you, to tell us what to doWe don't refer to the past when showin' what we've done
Our generation gap means the war is never won
The past is in your head, the future's in our hands'Cos I'm a brat and I know everythin'
And I talk back 'cos I'm not listenin'
To anything you sayAnd if you count to 3
You'll see it's no emergency
You 'll see, I'm not the enemy
Just a prisoner of societyWell we don't need no one to tell us what to do
Oh yes we're on our own and there's nothin' you can do
So we don't need no one like you, so tell us what to do'Cos I'm a brat and I know everythin'

So we don't need no one like you, so tell us what to doWe don't refer to the past when showin' what we've done
Our generation gap means the war is never won
So we don't need no one like you, so tell us what to do'Cos I'm a brat and I know everythin'
And I talk back 'cos I'm not listenin'
To anything you sayAnd if you count to 3
You'll see it's no emergency
You 'll see, I'm not the enemy
Just a prisoner of
Society, society, society, society
Society, society, society, society

The Living End formed in 1994 after lead singer/guitarist Chris Cheney and bassist Scott Owen were introduced to each other by their older sisters at Wheelers Hill Secondary College in Melbourne, Australia. Cheney, obsessed with 80s rockabilly group the Stray Cats, convinced Owen to learn the double bass instead of the piano and they started playing gigs under the name Runaway Boys after the title of a Stray Cats song. The group went through a succession of drummers before settling on Joe Piripitzi.
