Probably Should Have Lyrics

I didn't come, I didn't call ya
Matter of fact I forgot it was your birthday
I didn't check my messages
I guess I was drinking, was thirsty in the worst way
I didn't realize
That you wanted me just as much as I want you
I tried to get between them thighs
You asked me to wait, but I just didn't want to[Chorus]
Probably should have, when I could have
Spending time worrying when you gon' put out
Thinking with my third leg with my foot out
Now I'm sitting round here in this shit houseI forgot to thank you
For all the things you done for me
I didn't bother to help you
With your rent when you asked me for a G
I can't be played a fool
That's what I thought - you was all about money
Now you with another dude

I want another chance, but you don't want shit from meI didn't tell you how much I needed you in my life babe
I didn't tell you how much I care for you
But I[Chorus]
Probably should have, when I could have
Spending time worrying when you gon' put out
Thinking with my third leg with my foot out
Now I'm sitting round here in this shit houseAnd you were gone, I was all alone
I met a girl, she was fine and submissive
She was cool, she wasn't you
She only fuck, didn't cook, didn't do dishes
But that ain't what it's all about
Realized she was just like them other fake bitches
Slamming doors and throwing shit in my house
And now she's cutting up my shit, man what the fuck is this!!??
I sometimes think of you as I toss and turn at night
Now you're gone with someone else
And I lost the yearn to fight[Chorus]
Probably should have, when I could have
Spending time worrying when you gon' put out
Thinking with my third leg with my foot out
Now I'm sitting round here in this shit houseYou know, most of my time is pretty much thinking of you
I even look at the pictures we use to take
Realizing that I made a huge mistake
I wish I could turn back the hands of time
I'll do a lot of things differently
Respect your body and your mind
So I can have both at the same timeI didn't tell you how much I needed you in my life babe
I didn't tell you how much I care for you
But I[Chorus]
Probably should have, when I could have
Spending time worrying when you gon' put out
Thinking with my third leg with my foot out
Now I'm sitting round here in this shit house

Devin the Dude is a Houston-area rapper. Though relatively well-known among the underground hip-hop community during the mid-to-late 90's, Devin did not achieve mainstream success until his appearance on Dr. Dre's 2001 album. Besides sex, relationships, ridin' trucks, smokin' reefer, drinkin' beer, partying, and conscious or proverbial themes, much of Devin's work is also light-hearted and comically self-deprecating.

Copeland started out as a member of the Odd Squad, later known as the Coughee Brothaz, a group of rappers signed to Rap-A-Lot Records. The label is notable for being the home of hip-hop artists such as Geto Boys, Scarface, and Too Much Trouble. Copeland moved on to become part of Scarface's Facemob, before going solo in 1998.[1] Copeland has released six solo albums: The Dude (1998), Just Tryin' ta Live (2002), To tha X-Treme (2004), Waitin' to Inhale (2007), Landing Gear (2008), and Gotta Be Me (2010). He also made a number of guest appearances, including on Dr. Dre's "Fuck You" in 1999, and De La Soul's "Baby Phat" in 2001.[1]

In 2008, he ended his 15 year relationship with Houston based Rap-A-Lot Records because the label failed to renew his contract.[2] Later that year, he signed with indie label Razor & Tie.[3]

Despite being a critical success, Devin the Dude has not achieved success in the mainstream but continues to be a well-known underground hip-hop artist. The New York Times has called him "A brilliant oddball with a spaced-out flow."[4] In addition, he has been called "Rap's best-kept secret" and "Your favorite rapper's favorite rapper."[5] In 2007, he appeared in a documentary titled Screwed In Houston produced by VBS/Vice Magazine that details the history of the Houston rap scene.
