Promises Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
I went outside
To take a walk
So I could relive memories
I thought that you would lend a handBut you were never ever there
It's all in your mind
You do what you want to do
Your promises are all played outYou've got your wish
You've worn me down
I've treated you the best I could
I realize that I don't need youI lost my way

When you left home
I thought that you could change your life
What did I doWhy do you lie
You've walked back in
My hands are tied
It's all in your mindYou do what you want to do
Your promises are all played out
You've got your wish
You've worn me downI've treated you the best I could
I realize that I don't need you
It's all in your mind
You do what you want to meIt's all in your mind
You do what you want, to me
I'm tired
I'm so damn angry with youYou're not gonna change
I see who you really are
Your promises are all played out
You've got your wishYou've worn me down
I've treated you the best I could
I realize that I don't need you
Your promisesYour promises
Your promises
They're all played out
You're so played outYou're so played out
You're so played out
They're all played out

Formed in 2000, Adema began with Mark Chavez, Mike Ransom, Dave DeRoo, Tim Fluckey and Kris Kohls. The band later signed to Arista Records, releasing its first album, self-titled Adema, which was released in 2001. The first two singles from the album, The Way You Like It and Giving In, helped it sell over 600,000 copies. The band followed up their debut with an EP and their second full length, which were met with limited success.
