Proposal Lyrics

Take it if you will, take it if you can
Or refuse it, I will understand
It's just some flowersMy family just moved in around the corner
Will you be my friend
I touched her on the shoulder
She was fourteen, I was barely olderTake it if you will, take it if you can
Or refuse it, I will understand
It's just a keyMy parents are going away for the weekend
Will you stay with me?
I felt my body trembling
High school days were nearly at an end thenTime was a blur of emotions, spinning so fast
And time was a rocket engine
With no end and no beginning
But all time stopped when she said, "Yes"Take it if you will, oh, take it if you can
Or refuse it, you know I'll never ask again
It's just a ringAt best it's just a symbol of everything
If I can share my life with you
Standing naked in my fear, I could not face her

Then I broke down, my arms embraced herTime was a blur of emotions, spinning so fast
Yeah, time was a rocket engine
With no end and no beginning
All time stopped when she said, "Yes"Take it if you will, take it if you can
Or refuse it, that's how our lives began
