Puppeteer Lyrics

written by James Raymondlook up my friend, see how the story ends
there's nowhere to run to and nothing to stop you
and no one to hold you downlook up my friend, means justify the end
there's nothing below you
when the world falls awaypull over to the shoulder
i've got something to say to you
it's not so elusive this golden frontier
pull the strings puppeteersometimes you get marooned
with salt in every wound
you watch as your own hands
reach for the nightstand
for something to bring you downlook up my friend, the dead will soon ascend
but everyone's even
when the light fades awaypull over to the shoulder
i've got something to say to you
it's not so elusive this golden frontierpull over to the shoulder
i've got something to say to you
this world can get colder this time of the yearand love can disappear

run you through like a spear
pull the strings puppeteer

Crosby & Nash is a duo formed by David Crosby and Graham Nash during a Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young hiatus. After the success of Déjà Vu, all four members of CSNY released solo albums. Crosby released If I Could Only Remember My Name, while Nash released Songs for Beginners. In the autumn of 1971 the best friends toured together as an acoustic duo to favorable reviews; consequently, in 1972 the two decided to record an album together and the result was Graham Nash David Crosby.
