Puttin' the Dark Back Into the Night Lyrics

The neon moon was lookin' over her shoulder
She was sippin' wine and tellin' lots of tales
When the bar flies are off the wall
It's hard to stand up straight and tall
When you're lookin' for someone to go your bailShe's puttin' the dark back into the night
She's got her heart on loose thinkin' love ain't right
The future ain't lookin' none too bright
So she's puttin' the dark back into the nightShe gave her hand to a man who was only a lover
His cheatin' drove her jealously insane
Now the light at the end of the tunnel for her
Is just a memory of the way we were
And the look in her eye says she don't have to explainShe's puttin' the dark back into the night
She's got her heart on loose thinkin' love ain't right
The future ain't lookin' none too bright
So she's puttin' the dark back into the nightYou'll never know just what you'll do
When a broken heart comes from out of the blue
She's out on the run, she's ready to blow
She's out of her mind, she's losin' controlShe's puttin' the dark back into the night

She's got her heart on loose thinkin' love ain't right
The future ain't lookin' none too bright
So she's puttin' the dark back into the nightShe's puttin' the dark back into the night
She's got her heart on loose thinkin' love ain't right
The future ain't lookin' none too bright
So she's puttin' the dark back into the night

Sawyer Brown is a country music band formed in 1981 at a Pizza Hut restaurant in Apopka, Florida. Lead singer Mark Miller asked keyboardist Gregg "Hobie" Hubbard to play piano for a couple of songs he had written. The two left for Nashville, Tennessee, where they met up with Florida drummer Joe Smyth, Michigan bass player Jim Scholten and original lead guitarist Bobby Randall. They first called the band "Savanah", but renamed themselves "Sawyer Brown" after Sawyer Brown Road, the street where they rehearsed.
