Railroad Days Lyrics

Saturday feelin' like Sunday
And I really haven't made my way
A lost road
It's a blown up railroad
Got to find a new engineer todayAnd it's twice as hard on my stride
When I take a day and let it rideHello, how are you, how do you do?
Can you help me? Come jump in my shoes
You'll know the feelin' of me
Thinkin' about you
And you really haven't made your wayAnd ooh, it's a lost road
A blown up railroad
Got to find a new track, lay it down
Now delayWelcome be the stranger
With a drivin' wheel all his own
Me, the rearranger
And I can't find homeSaturday feelin' like Sunday
And I really haven't made my way
A lost road

It's a blown up railroad
Got to find a new engineer todayAnd ooh, it's a lost road
A blown up railroad
Got to find a new track, lay it down
Now delay

Poco, founded in 1968 by Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Richie Furay and Jim Messina (both inducted 1997 with Buffalo Springfield), was one of the earliest in the "country rock" genre that was later commercially popularized by bands such as the Eagles. The band was completed by Rusty Young (pedal steel guitar, dobro, banjo and mandolin) Randy Meisner on bass and George Grantham on drums. Poco's 1969 debut, "Pickin' Up the Pieces" (the title being a reference to the break-up of Buffalo Springfield), received some critical acclaim but generated very litttle enthusiasm commercially.
