After the breakup of Red 40 and before the formation of Lucero, bassist-vocalist Ben Nichols moved to Memphis, where he started a short-lived band called Lucky Old Sun which only ever recorded a demo. Lucky Old Sun consisted of Ben Nichols Bass/Vocals, Blair Pearce Guitar, and Charles Levingston on drums.
