Raspberry Lyrics

Held in hands, a warm cup of skin
Always taken in by peers and friends
And the heightened fears over the years
Now I know I'm not like everyoneAnd in this head I see the ground you came from
Unknown and undug from where you were staying
In a backyard bed until we came togetherRaspberry in my hand, you feel alright
But I don't know if I am
Oh, I can't change what I am right now
But I'll be fine in the next lifeI know I can say, I'm honest with myself
And with my red tasty gem
And sure they will try, but they can't take away
My secret loving friendAnd on a good day, my mind is like the country
Green, wide open, a breath of zen
That's nice on the eyes, lonely, yeah
Without a prayerRaspberry in my hand, you feel alright
But I don't know if I am
Oh, I can't change what I am right now
But I'll be fine in the next lifeTake the trip that I have

I am at risk
But I guess you knowI guess you know
I guess you know
I guess you know
You know I guessExplosions from the goldfish bowl
And visions of blue girls crying starsThe more the garden sings
The, the harder it gets to stay in
There are a lot of choices
So many voices ruling meSo many of them at once
Yelling, "Oh, everything's a mess"
I knowAnd you catch on a good day
Yeah, my mind is like the country
Green, wide open, a breath of zen
That's nice on the eyes, lonely, yeahRaspberry in my hand, you feel alright
But I don't know if I am
Oh, I can't change what I am right now
But I'll be fine in the next life

I Mother Earth, or IME, is a Canadian alternative rock band founded in 1991 in Toronto. They found moderate success in the mid-to-late 1990s. After touring for their most successful album, Scenery and Fish, lead singer Edwin left the band. In interviews, founding brothers Christian and Jagori Tanna claimed that they had always written the music and lyrics themselves, and that Edwin was merely a hired singer. He went on to be mildly successful as a solo artist. The band itself ended up in bitter disputes with both their label and the band's management, and subsequently broke ties with both.
