Read 'em And Weep Lyrics

I've been trying for hours just to think of what exactly to say
I thought I'd leave you with a letter or fiery speech
Like when an actor makes an exit at the end of a playAnd I've been dying for hours
Trying to fill up all the holes with some sense
I'd like to know how you faded and you threw it away?
I'd like to give you all the reasons and what everything meantWell I could tell you goodbye or maybe see you around
With just a touch of a sarcastic thanks
We started out with a bang and at the top of the world
Now the guns are exhausted, the bullets are blanks
And every thing's blankIf I could only find the words then I would write it all down
If I could only find a voice I would speak
Oh it's there in my eyes, oh can't you see me tonight
C'mon and look at me and read 'em and weepIf I could only find the words then I would write it all down
If I could only find a voice I would speak
Oh it's there in my eyes, oh can't you see me tonight
C'mon and look at me and read 'em and weepI've been whispering softly, trying to build a cry up to a scream
We let the past slip away and put the future on hold
Now the present is nothing but a hollowed out dreamAnd I've been dying for hours

Trying to fill up all the holes with some sense
I'd like to know why you faded and you threw it away
I'd like to give you all the reasons and what everything meantWell I could tell you goodbye or maybe see you around
With just a touch of a sarcastic thanks
But now the rooms are all empty, the candles are dark
The guns are exhausted
And the bullets are blanks and every thing's blankIf I could only find the words then I would write it all down
If I could only find a voice I would speak
Oh it's there in my eyes so can't you see me tonight
C'mon and look at me and read 'em and weepOh it's there in my eyes and coming straight from my heart
It's running silent and angry and deep
Oh it's there in my eyes and it's all I can say
C'mon and look at me and read 'em and weepFor all the hours we've been spending along
For all tears raining down
And all those promises we promised to keep
They won't be kept in vogueFor the magic that are bodies had made
For the love that we lost
And all the secrets that we somehow betrayed
Hold my another causeFor the myth we still having affair
For the lives we been lived
And all the things that can never be kept
Why don't you look at me and read 'em and weep?
C'mon and look at me and read 'em andIt's there in my heart, it's all I can say
C'mon and look at me and read 'em and weep

Meat Loaf (born Marvin Lee Aday on September 27, 1947 in Dallas, Texas) is an American actor and rock and roll performer who came to fame with his album Bat Out of Hell and for his movie performances, including Eddie in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Robert "Bob" Paulson in Fight Club and Jack Black's father in Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny.

The All Of Me Songfacts reports that Meat Loaf described his 12th studio album, Hell in a Handbasket, to Billboard as, "the most personal record I've ever made.” He added: “It's about how I feel the world's gone to hell in a handbasket. It's really the first record that I've ever put out about how I feel about life and how I feel about what's going on at the moment." The LP was released September 30, 2011 in Australia, followed by a release in February and March 2012 worldwide.

Meat Loaf has had a very successful music career spawning some of the greatest selling albums of all time and breaking various records. Although he enjoyed success with Jim Steinman's Bat Out Of Hell Trilogy, he experienced some initial difficulty establishing a steady career within the United States; however, he is considered a legend in the UK and across Europe. In the UK, he is ranked 23rd for number of weeks in the charts overall. Due to his anthemic songs and a performance for Radio Veronica in the Netherlands, he stormed up their Top 100 of all times making a top 10 spot 6 years in a row. He ranks at 96th on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of hard rock." His overall success in Europe and Australia has been exceptional and he is considered one of the top artists of all time.
