Real Good Thing Lyrics

Is this the place that we're supposed to be?
This the beginning of our history, I don't know
Guess we'll have to wait and seeLast few dollars spent impressing you
Got a haircut and a pair of shoes, worth it all
Just to get a smile from you and a kiss or twoIf the feeling's right and you're feeling light
Baby we just might have the makings of a real good thing
Just a touch of you, little bit of me
Might be the recipe for a real good thingKnow you're hoping that your people approve
Either way baby we can't lose
But the truth is that it all comes down to me and youKnow the fellas probably want me to choose
Between hanging out with them, spending all my time with you
That's exactly what I'm gonna do if it's alright with youIf the feeling's right and you're feeling light
Baby we just might have the makings of a real good thing
Just a touch of you, little bit of me
Might be the recipe for a real good thingStarting to get a little bit curious
Why things are moving so fast
Starting to get a little bit serious
This one feels like it's gonna last, ohIf the feeling's right and you're feeling light

Baby we might just have a real good thing
Just a touch of you, little bit of me
Might be the recipe for a real good thingIf the feeling's right and you're feeling light
Baby we just might have the makings of a real good thing
Just a touch of you, little bit of me
Might be the recipe for a real good thing
A good thing yeah, real good thing yeah, ooh

Marc Broussard (born January 14, 1982) is an American singer and songwriter. The Louisiana native released his first major album (with Island Def Jam Records) on August 3, 2004. The album's title Carencro pays tribute to the musician's hometown of Carencro, Louisiana. His style is best described as "Bayou Soul," a mix of funk, blues, R&B, rock, and pop, matched with distinct Southern roots.

Marc is best known for the songs "Where You Are" and "Home." Broussard previously released several independent efforts, including 2002's Momentary Setback which spawned the hit "The Wanderer", a song about self discovery. A re-worked version of the song appears on Carencro. As of July 2005, "Home" was released as a single.

Although Broussard is rather unknown, he is characteristically known and critically praised for his strong vocals. However, he has garnered an uptick in popularity thanks to a snappy tune "Must Be The Water" which is featured in television commercials on TNT for the 2008 NBA All-Star game held in New Orleans.
