Real Lyrics

Look at me, I'm twenty three
Beautiful, a sight to see tonight
A little dress to draw the press
And I'll be leaving all the rest behindWell, be pleased, girl
If this is what you wanted
The whole world is watching you take the stage
What will you say?Aren't I lovely and do you want me
'Cause I am hungry for something that will make me real
Can you see me and do you love me
'Cause I am desperately searching for something realI close my eyes, imagine time
Will not forget my sacrifice
I numb the ache and decorate
My emptiness stand naked in the lightWell, be pleased, world
If this is what you wanted
This young girl is everything that you made
What will she say?Aren't I lovely and do you want me
'Cause I am hungry for something that will make me real
Can you see me and do you love me

'Cause I am desperately searching for something realThe world goes home
The lights go down
My lipstick fades awayAnd do you want me
'Cause I am hungry for something that will make me real
Can you see me and do you love me
'Cause I am desperately searching for something realAnd do you want me
'Cause I am hungry for something that will make me real
Can you see me and do you love me
'Cause I am desperately searching for something realAnd do you want me
'Cause I am hungry for something that will make me real
Can you see me and do you love me
'Cause I am desperately searching for something real

Singer/songwriter Tiffany Arbuckle-Lee fronted the Dove Award-winning alternative rock band Plumb during the late '90s, and adopted the name Plumb for her subsequent full-fledged solo career. She was born in Indianapolis and grew up in Atlanta, where she took several gigs as a backup singer and wound up touring in that capacity instead of going to college, as she'd planned. She relocated to Nashville, where she landed a record deal based on her session and backup work, and formed Plumb with neighbor/songwriter/producer Matt Bronleewe.
