Red Bank Blues Lyrics

he pulled the sheets off from the stars and made the earth spin toward the sun
and when the fire hit the clouds it took ten years off his life
when the sheriff found out where he was
he sent 10 men down to find cause they knew we'd find out the truth unless they let that man down
hands were shaking at his side when he pulled out the gun and said goodbye
the shots flew back and forth and the crowd covered their eyes
and when the noise was over dirt flew by with dust and spite
he laid on his back red and full of life
he laid on his back red and full of time
and they hung the flag at half mast today
while the room filled full and alive
he laid down low with a smile on his face
while the stars sing songs and collide in his eyes
why do all the good ones have to die

The Jazz June started their eight year run in 1996 in a small town in Pennsylvania named Kutztown. The 5 of them all met at Kutztown University and started playing shows in basements and garages throughout Kutztown, PA. The band took their favorite aspects of indie rock, punk and post hardcore and made it their own. Each songs precision seems to be countered by just the opposite - the ever-so-often changeups can throw the new listener off a bit, creating a conglomeration of noise and melody as if 5 different bands were to play at once.
