Red, White and Blues Lyrics

The skys lighting up and everybody's so high
Come take my hand its the fourth of July
God bless America and all of that shit
I should probably feel better but I feel I should quitSo raise a flag for the boys who've paid their dues
So I could be free here to live with these blues
No it doesn't seem right everybody's so high
And I'm crying the blues on the fourth of JulyTake a walk downtown it's a beautiful day
Smoke a cigarette, watch the parade
We'll sing God bless America and all of that stuff
I should probably feel better, I've had enoughSo raise a flag for the boys who've paid their dues
So I could be free here to live with these blues
No it doesn't seem right everybody's so high
And I'm crying the blues on the fourth of July
No it doesn't seem right everybody's so high
And I'm crying the blues on the fourth of July

Around the time Jack Ingram started writing songs and performing, he was studying psychology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. "Music and psychology come from the same place," he says. "It's about studying why people tick. I write songs to figure out my world, why people act the way they do, why they make the decisions they do."
Lucky for us, Ingram chose a career in music-and discovered an altogether different kind of therapy. He weaved his questions about life into songs whose depth and incisive wit were matched only by their melodic resonance and insistent hooks.
