Reflections Lyrics

Yeah, yeahIn the mirror of my mind
Time after time
I see reflections of
You and meReflections of
The way life used to be
Reflections of
The love you took from meI'm all alone now
No love to shield me
Trapped in a world that's
A distorted reality
(Nothing's real)Happiness you
Took from me
And left me alone
With only memoriesThrough the mirror of my mind
Through these tears that I'm crying
Reflects the hurt I can't
Control'Cause although you're gone
I keep holdin' on

To the happy times
Ooh when you were mineAs I peer out through the window
Of the lost time
Looking over my yesterday
And all this love I gave all in vain
(Nothing's real)(All the love)
All the love that I've wasted
(All those tears)
All the tears that I've tasted
(Ooh, ooh, ooh)
All in vain
(All in vain, till nothing remains)Through the hollow of my tears
I see a dream that's lost
From the hurt, hey, hey
That you have causedEverywhere I turn
Seems like everything I see
Reflects the love that
Used to be, yeahIn you I put
All my faith and trust
And right before my eyes
My world is turned to dustAfter all those nights
I sat alone and wept
Just a hand full of promises and
All that's left of lovin' you
(Nothing's real)Reflections of
The way life used to be
Reflections of
The love you took from meIn you I put
All my faith and trust
Right before my eyes
My world's turned to dustReflections of
(Oh yeah)
The way life used to be
(Yeah)
Reflections of
(Love you took)
The love you took from me
(I'll remember)In you I put
All my faith and trust
(Remember, remember)
Right before my eyes
My world is turned to dustReflections of
The way life used to be

Luther Ronzoni Vandross (April 20, 1951 - July 1, 2005) was an american soul and rnb singer whose career spanned four decades.

In the 70s, he worked as a backing singer Chic and for David Bowie (on the Young Americans album). He later found success as a solo artist with Superstar and A House Is Not A Home.

In the 80s, Vandross was a vocalist on early Change singles (Searching), whilst continuing his solo career with such releases as "Never Too Much", "Power Of Love/Love Power", "If Only For One Night", "Here And Now".

In the 90s, he was more famous for duets with Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey (amongst others), than for his solo work.

It was an ongoing battle with his weight that may have ultimately proved his undoing. He suffered a stroke in 2003, from which he never really recovered, and died in 2005.

During his career, he sold 25 million albums and won eight Grammy awards including Best Male R&B Vocal Performance four times. He won four Grammy awards in 2004, including the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for the track "Dance With My Father," co-written with Richard Marx.
