Regular Cat Lyrics

Yo I grew up like a Regular Cat
Some nigga hit me wit a signing shit
Yo I'll settle wit dat went to my block
Got it off and coped metal wit dat
So if a nigga ever frontin', I'ma wet I'm wit thatYo I grew up like a Regular Cat
Some nigga hit me wit a signing shit
Yo I'll settle wit dat went to my block
Got it off and coped metal wit dat
So if a nigga ever frontin', I'ma wet I'm wit thatMy guns, my credentials, I'm geased up
Hate a nigga that don't know me and swear
That Bleek front 'cause I'm a little nigga, so what
I did my thang now I came up, fuck a nigga gone tell me?
Before this Bleek shit, a nigga couldn't eat and shit
I sold drugs, fascinated by this sneaker shit on hot days
I found ways to clock pay had yellow tops now my topz is gray'Cause one these lame niggaz got the color of mine
But one problem, niggaz work ain't as butter as mine
And you got to believe, yo I'm dope in the drawers form, poppy seed
And you got to be weed, I got a ounce of D and no clientele

But when the sun goes down I hit the strips for sales
Clock mel, half of my dogz ain't rottweil, we 'bout to
Work wholesale, and flip the price the retail, whaYo I grew up like a Regular Cat
So if a nigga ever frontin', I'ma wet I'm wit thatI got the hood in me, so I guess I'm no good, nigga
I stay strapped 'cause I know a nigga could, nigga
I chop grams in the crib wit my man, we blew L's
And politicked on how to expand we supplied the Vein
Promised to go out in a blaze before them pigz lock
The game we gotta maintain in this world of cold blood
It's no love, niggaz will back out heat and let you hold slugz
We took re-up money rollin' dice, and I never thoughtA game of Cee-Lo could take my man life, over 3 cdnt
My son was a little bit a nigga flash heat, he flipped
And seen the end of it a cool cat, and nobody seemed
To like him dat was my dog so nobody had to like him
I closed the vein down, I couldn't hustle no mo, but still
I hold heat ready to ride to war 'cause I could die by
This game spit in the Mic and my life ain't no different
Just a Regular CatYo I grew up like a Regular Cat
Some nigga hit me wit a signing shit
Yo I'll settle wit dat went to my block
Got it off and coped metal wit dat
So if a nigga ever frontin', I'ma wet I'm wit thatYo I grew up like a Regular Cat
Some nigga hit me wit a signing shit
Yo I'll settle wit dat went to my block
Got it off and coped metal wit dat
So if a nigga ever frontin', I'ma wet I'm wit thatYo, yo, why niggaz throw ice grills and I see you
Tight grill but I know if I squeeze you fagots gon' squeal
I laugh at y'all flash cash at y'all in the tinted whatever
Ride right past y'all, me and my Codee and we all know Bleek
Tight, the whole heat, you niggaz don't know me
Where the fuck niggaz know me from? Marcy, son
You niggaz frontin' you ain't have heart to comeBesides you niggaz mad 'cause yo bitch ride Shotty
Round town, Malibu mixed wit Bacardi, she relaxed in
Da drop, Fendi shades matchin' the watch, accent osets
The bitch kinda prop but her man think he untouchable
Put his ass where he ain't comfortable, lay him up for a few
He'll realize, Bleek ain't the one to fuck wit, provoke me to spit
Consider it dealt wit I'm not the type to hit shotz and miss youThe type to play you close to kiss you nigga describe the pistol
You hit wit when they fillin' yo body wit liquid
Now I'm on the low cause you told em it was Memphis
Who blazed you up, yeah, laid you up
Yo mouth got you like that, and that's plain as fuck
I'm a Regular Cat, whaYo I grew up like a Regular Cat
Some nigga hit me wit a signing shit
Yo I'll settle wit dat went to my block
Got it off and coped metal wit dat
So if a nigga ever frontin', I'ma wet I'm wit thatYo I grew up like a Regular Cat
Some nigga hit me wit a signing shit
Yo I'll settle wit dat went to my block
Got it off and coped metal wit dat
So if a nigga ever frontin', I'ma wet I'm wit thatYo I grew up like a Regular Cat
Some nigga hit me wit a signing shit
Yo I'll settle wit dat went to my block
Got it off and coped metal wit dat
So if a nigga ever frontin', I'ma wet I'm wit thatYo I grew up like a Regular Cat
Some nigga hit me wit a signing shit
Yo I'll settle wit dat went to my block
Got it off and coped metal wit dat
So if a nigga ever frontin', I'ma wet I'm wit thatRegular cat, wit 'em dat, I'm just a regular cat
Yo I'll settle wit dat then I'ma wet 'em wit dat, yeah

Malik Thuston Cox (born on June 23, 1978) better known as Memphis Bleek, is a Brooklyn rapper who made his first appearance in Hip Hop on Jay-Z's debut album, Reasonable Doubt in 1996. Memphis Bleek regularly came in contact with rap legends such as The Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z during his childhood, and has collaborated with artists such as Beanie Sigel, Ja Rule and Missy Elliott, among others. "Memphis" is an acronym for Making Easy Money Pimping Hoes In Style.

Early years

Memphis "One Hit Away" Bleek's first mainstream rap vocals appeared on the Clark Kent produced song "Coming of Age", featured on Jay-Z's classic debut LP Reasonable Doubt. Shortly after, Bleek became the first artist signed to Roc-A-Fella Records.

"Coming of Age", ironiclly, was also the title of Memphis' debut LP, which didn't create massive records sales and chart-topping singles as his labelmate and peers' albums had. The same was the case of his second LP, "The Understanding", and third, "M.A.D.E", though the latter spawned his largest amount of sales yet (900,000).

Get Low label and rivalries

In the time between the releases of his second and third albums, Memphis Bleek started his own label, Get Low, which in turn led to the signing of former Junior MAFIA member Lil' Cease. The name of the label has sparked a hip-hop rivalry, or beef, between Memphis Bleek, JT tha Bigga Figga & The Game, the former of which built an independent record label with the same title.

Memphis Bleek was also caught in the middle of the epic Jay-Z and Nas battle, in which Bleek gained a few enemies, most notably Nas and Mobb Deep. Despite boosting Jay-Z and Nas's careers, the beef did little to help Bleek gain any more popularity than he had already attained.

Later years

Remaining one hit away, on May 17, 2005, Bleek released his fourth album titled "534" , in reference to the building he & mentor Jay-Z grew up in, located in the Marcy housing projects of Brooklyn. However, like many of Bleeks previous releases the album suffered in sales, despite decent exposure of the Swizz Beatz produced single 'Like That'.

In fall 2005, Memphis Bleek told MTV that he was recording an album called "The Process", that he would describe as a make or break album, saying "I want to do an album that's through the roof, I want to do a classic album. I feel that if this album I'm not recording is a classic, I'm not even gonna put it out. I have to do it bigger than anybody has ever done it. I have to make a good record this time, not just talking-junk records."The rapper has worked on the album since 2005 and during that time frame he would release the songs "Hustla", "Get Ya Money Off" and "Let It Off". During this time, he would also leave Roc-A-Fella after Jay-Z told him he could run his own company and had the proper distribution deals to do so. He found a new home in 2009 when he signed to Mass Appeal Entertainment which is where he will release his long anticipated album The Process is yet.
