Respect Lyrics

Someday I know that there will come a time
That we all will have to come together as one
So when will we let this wall be the end
Let the love begin, tell meWhen I was coming up
I got old fashion love
Never talked back to mama
Always knew where a kid's place wasI feel much frustration
Gotta teach this generation
To love one another againIf you wanna learn, respect
You gotta give it, respect
You gotta show the whole world what it is
If you wanna gain, respect
You gotta give, respect
Sharing it with everyone that livesFather, father watch
What you say and do
Forty years from now
Your kids will be youIf you teach, they'll know
The right way to go, let them feel love

What comes around, goes around
Show them thatIf you wanna learn, respect
You gotta give it, respect
You gotta show the whole world what it is
If you wanna gain, respect
You gotta give, respect
Sharing with everyone that livesWatch what you say and do
Children they learn from you
Don't let the cycle end
Let's make the love begin
Hold on don't give up yet
Give love and give respectIf you wanna learn, respect
You gotta give it, respect
You gotta show the whole world what it is
If you wanna gain, respect
You gotta give, respect
Sharing with everyone that livesWatch what you say and do
Children they learn from you
Don't let the cycle end
Let's make the love begin
Hold on don't give up yet
Give love and give respectThis is simple things
That make me feel like I'm in a trance
Floating on top of the world
And only love can make me dance
Yes, only love can make me dance

R&B chanteuse Jerzee Monet's path to the recording industry was an ambitious journey that started on the East Coast.
Monet grew up in various towns in New Jersey, shuffled back and forth between divorced parents. It was this exposure to all sides of both culture and race that gave Monet the confidence and knowledge to use her vocal talents. She settled in Trenton, NJ, as a hair stylist for a bit, but she knew music was in her blood and she had to act on her impulses.
