Right Down the Line Lyrics

You know I need your love, you got that hold over me
Long as I got your love, you know that Ill never leave
When I wanted you to share my life, I had no doubt in my mind
And its been you, woman, right down the lineI know how much I lean on you, only you can see
The changes that Ive been through have left their mark on me
You've been as constant as the northern star
The brightest light that shines
Its been you, woman, right down the lineI just wanna say this is my way
Of telling you everything I could never say before
Yeah, this is my way of telling you that everyday
Im loving you so much moreCause you believed in me through my darkest night
Put something better inside of me, you brought me into the light
Threw away all those crazy dreams, I put them all behind
And it was you, woman, right down the lineI just wanna say this is my way
Of telling you everything I could never say before
Yeah, this is my way of telling you that everyday
Im loving you so much moreIf I should doubt myself if Im losing ground
I wont turn to someone else, theyd only let me down

When I wanted you to share my life, I had no doubt in my mind
And its been you, woman, right down the line

Gerald Rafferty (born April 16, 1947, in Paisley, UK and died 4 January 2011) was a Scottish singer and songwriter. In his early years, Gerry Rafferty earned money by the formerly illegal practice of busking on the London Underground. Poetically, his biggest hit "Baker Street" was about busking at a tube station. After working with Billy Connolly (now better known as a comedian) in a band known as The Humblebums, he recorded a first solo album, Can I Have My Money Back.
