Rocky Road Blues Lyrics

Now the road is rocky but it won't be rocky long, long, long
Now the road is rocky but it won't be rocky long
Another man has got my woman and goneI've got those blues, I'm wearing out the soles of my shoes
I've got those blues, I'm wearing out the soles of my shoes
My gal went away and left me, she left me with the dog gone bluesNow the road is rocky but it won't be rocky long, long, long
Now the road is rocky but it won't be rocky long
Another man has got my woman and goneYou'll never miss your water 'til the well runs dry
You'll never miss your water 'til the well runs dry
You'll never miss your woman until she says, "Goodbye"Now the road is rocky but it won't be rocky long, long, long
Now the road is rocky but it won't be rocky long
Another man has got my woman and goneI wish to the Lord, you'd bring my woman back home
I wish to the Lord, you'd bring my woman back home
I'm not so lonesome, just don't want to be aloneNow the road is rocky but it won't be rocky long, long
Now the road is rocky but it won't be rocky long
Another man has got my woman and gone

Bill Monroe (September 13, 1911 – September 9, 1996) developed the style of country music known as bluegrass, which takes its name from his band, the "Blue Grass Boys," named for his home state of Kentucky. Monroe's performing career spanned 60 years as a singer, instrumentalist, composer and bandleader. He is often referred to as "the father of bluegrass." In the rock (and roll) community, Bill Monroe may be best known via one of Elvis Presley's earliest recordings at Sun Records, that of Monroe's 'Blue Moon of Kentucky'. Patsy Cline also made a highly regarded version of this song.
